Got a few more live on the Turbo Registry. Also uploaded a few more submissions to the gallery. If you don't see your 951 up there, send it on over!
Thanks for all the support so far. If you like this site and would like to see P-CarOnline.com back up, please support my Kickstarter campaign to help pay for the back-end software to run the new website!
I have received tremendous feedback from Turbo owners around the globe on getting this registry built. Lots of names, pictures, and data has been coming in. This is a manually-based registry (i.e., it's not automatic when you "register" -- I am doing this by hand for now to save money) so please give me a few days to get everything up after you register.
Check it out here, or if you need to register, click here!
Thanks for the support.
I had the Cup car over at Blacksheep Garage yesterday. Shane and David started the shop for a number of reasons, including a real desire to bring honesty and integrity to an otherwise sometimes not-so-much marketplace. They are a performance shop, maintenance shop, restoration shop -- they can be considered the jack of all trades and the master of many!
Specifically, Shane is the Porsche "guy" in the equation!
Hopefully this works. Help if you can. No sweat if you can't.
I recently acquired a 1989 944 Turbo Cup replica from a fellow-Porsche nut in Florida. He turned his 951 into a track monster, and holds several class records including at Mid Ohio. He built one helluva machine.
My goals for the Cup car are slightly different, but his hard work and dedication to detail gave me a phenomenal starting point for my project.
I am anticipating this project taking several years, if not longer. I will document the project here at 944Turbo.com/blog.
Thanks in advance for the support!
Finally, bringing 944Turbo.com to you. It's been a goal for years. Life got in the way.
I will be documenting two major projects with this site.
First, the garage queen '88 951 -- mainly documenting the up-keep and side projects to keep her in the condition she has grown accustom to (which is pampered).
Second, the transformation of my 1989 944 Turbo Cup (replica) back to how Porsche intended it from the factory. This will be a few steps back from the direction it was on, which was full-up track monster. The previous owner built it as it stands, and I am the lucky beneficiary of all that work. He gave me an incredible example to start my long-time desire to build a 944 Cup car, which is at home on the street as much as it is on the track.
Over the next several years we'll see if I succeed at these. I certainly hope to.
I am a husband, father, and Porsche fan. I spent my childhood in Germany and became fond of Porsche at a young age.
